Quickstart

This guide takes you from nothing to a working agent on your website. You sign in, let the Copilot learn your business from your website, test the agent, publish it and paste one line of code into your site. It usually takes about 10 minutes.

We'll use a dental clinic as the example, but the steps are the same for an online store, a SaaS support desk or any other business.

Before you start

You need:

  • An email address you can open, or a Google account.
  • Your website address. No website? You can describe your business in the chat instead.
  • Access to your website's HTML (or a site builder that lets you add a script) for the last step.
Credits and plans

A new workspace starts on the Free plan with 500 credits. That's enough to build and test an agent: a full Copilot onboarding usually uses around 90 credits. Publishing needs a package. Packages are coming soon; until then, contact us from Settings → Plan & credits if you want to go live. See Plans and credits.

Step 1: Sign in

  1. Go to peki.ai.
  2. Choose how to sign in:
    • Google: click the Google button and pick your account.
    • Email: type your work email and click Email me a sign-in link. Open the email and click the link. It works once and expires in 15 minutes.
  3. Peki signs you in. There is no password to remember.
Early access

While Peki opens by invitation, the sign-in page shows Early access. If you're new, signing in adds your request to the waiting list and you see a "Thanks" page. When your invitation arrives, sign in with the same account and you go straight in. If a teammate already invited you to their workspace, you get in right away. See Accounts and workspaces.

Step 2: Create your workspace

The first time you sign in, Peki asks you to set up a workspace. A workspace holds your agents, channels, team and keys.

  1. Enter a Workspace name, for example your company name.
  2. Pick a Language (English or Türkçe). The agent uses it for texts it writes before it knows the customer's language.
  3. Pick a Currency (USD, EUR or TRY).
  4. Click Create workspace.

Peki opens the New agent page.

Step 3: Build the agent with the Copilot

On the New agent page you have two choices: Build with the Copilot, or Or start empty if you'd rather write everything yourself. Choose the Copilot.

  1. Click Build with the Copilot. Peki creates an agent called "New agent" and opens the Copilot chat next to it. The Copilot speaks first.
  2. Give it your website. The Copilot asks for your website with two options: "I'll write the address" or "I don't have a website". You can also just type the address, for example smiledental.example.
  3. Let it read. The Copilot reads your home page and up to six more pages that matter: about, services or products, prices, FAQ, contact and opening hours. You see each page it reads in the chat.
  4. Check what it learned. It sums up your business in a few lines: what you do, who your customers are, your hours, contact details, tone and languages. Correct anything that's wrong by writing in the chat.
  5. Answer a few questions. It asks only what the site didn't say, at most six short questions, usually as option cards you can tap. Typical questions:
    • What is the agent's main job: answer questions, take bookings or leads, or sell?
    • What must it never say or promise?
    • What should it do when it doesn't know the answer?
    • When should it hand the customer to your team?
    • What details should it collect, like name and phone number?
    • Which channels will you use?
  6. Approve the Document. The Copilot writes the agent's Document, a plain description of what the agent does. A card titled Approve the Agent document appears. Click Open the document to read it. Want changes? Write them in the chat. When it looks right, click Approve and build.
  7. Let it build. The Copilot writes instruction blocks, adds the pages it read to Knowledge, creates a table in Records if the agent collects details (for example appointment requests), sets up handoff and guardrails, then runs test conversations to check its own work. A short checklist in the chat shows its progress.
  8. Read its report. When it's done, the Copilot gives the agent a real name, writes three or four example questions your customers would ask, and tells you what it built, what it tested and what still needs you.
tip

You can stop the Copilot at any time with Stop, and undo any of its turns with Undo this turn. If it stops halfway, click Continue. Each Copilot reply shows its cost underneath. See Working with the Copilot.

note

Using the Copilot needs the Editor role or higher. The workspace owner has it. See Members and roles.

Step 4: Test the agent

Before customers see anything, try the agent yourself. Tests use the current draft, so nothing reaches real customers.

  1. Click Test. The Test panel opens with the example questions the Copilot wrote.
  2. Tap an example question, or write as a customer would, for example: "Are you open on Saturday? I'd like to ask about whitening."
  3. Read the reply. If it used a tool or Knowledge, you see it in the conversation.
  4. Try the hard cases too: a question the site doesn't answer, a request for a person, an off-topic question, a message in another language.
  5. Click Reset to start a fresh test conversation.

If something is wrong, tell the Copilot in plain words, for example: "When someone asks about prices, don't quote exact amounts, say the team will confirm." It changes the draft and tests again. See Testing.

note

Test conversations use credits like real replies, but they are never counted in Analytics.

Step 5: Publish

Publishing makes the draft the next live version. It goes live on every connected channel at once.

  1. Open Instructions. The header shows the draft number and how many unpublished changes it has.
  2. Click Publish. A small dialog titled Publish v1 opens.
  3. Optionally write what changed in What changed? (optional), for example "First version".
  4. Click Publish.

The Copilot may also offer to publish at the end of its build with an approval card. Clicking Approve on that card publishes in the same way.

Free plan

On the free plan, the Publish button shows a lock. Clicking it opens Settings → Plan & credits, because publishing needs a package. Everything else, including testing and setting up channels, works on the free plan.

You can restore any earlier version into the draft later from Instructions → Versions. See Publishing and versions.

Step 6: Put the chat on your website

  1. Open Channels and find Website chat.

  2. Turn on Show the chat on your website.

  3. Choose a Style:

    • Bubble: a button in the corner of every page; the chat opens over the page.
    • Chat box: a chat box inside your page, always open, where you paste the code.
  4. Pick a Colour and write a Welcome message in English and Turkish.

  5. Under Allowed websites, click Add website and enter your site's address, for example https://smiledental.example. Only the sites you list can show the chat. If you leave the list empty, any website can show it.

  6. Click Save. Channel changes apply right away, no publish needed.

  7. Copy the Embed code. It looks like this:

    <script src="https://peki.ai/widget.js" data-key="YOUR_WIDGET_KEY" async></script>
  8. Paste it before </body> on every page where the chat should appear. For the Chat box style, paste it where the box should appear in the page. It takes the full width and is 560 pixels high by default; add data-height="700" to the script tag to change the height.

  9. Click Try it to open a test page with your real widget.

warning

Conversations from Try it are real conversations with the published agent. They appear in the Inbox and Analytics with the customer "Widget tester".

Prefer Telegram? In Channels, follow the steps under Telegram: create a bot with @BotFather, paste the Bot token and click Connect. See Telegram. Building your own chat screen? Use the Sessions API.

Step 7: Watch the Inbox

Open Inbox to see every conversation as it happens. Conversations where the customer asked for a person show under Needs you. Click Take over to reply yourself, and Hand back to AI when you're done. See Inbox and Human handoff.

What to do next

  • Connect your own systems: ask the Copilot "Connect our order API so customers can check where their order is. The docs are at https://docs.example.com/orders." See Tools.
  • Add more Knowledge: upload a price list PDF or add your FAQ page. See Knowledge.
  • Collect leads or appointments into tables. See Records.
  • Get a daily summary on Telegram. See Automations.
  • Invite your team. See Members and roles.
