FAQ
Quick answers to the questions people ask most, grouped by area. Each answer links to the page with the details. If something isn't working, see Troubleshooting.
Getting started
What is Peki?
A place to build AI agents that answer your customers on your website, on Telegram and in your own app. The Copilot builds and tests the agent with you; you publish it when you're happy. See Welcome.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The Copilot sets up instructions, tools, knowledge and channels from a conversation. Developers can also write HTTP tools and TypeScript Functions by hand and use the API. See the Quickstart.
How long does it take to build a first agent?
Usually about 10 minutes with the Copilot: it reads your website, asks a few questions, writes the agent's Document, builds the agent and tests it.
I signed in and see a "Thanks" page. What now?
Peki is opening by invitation and your request is on the waiting list. We'll write to you when your access is ready; then sign in with the same account. If a teammate invites you to their workspace, you get in right away. See Accounts and workspaces.
Is there a password?
No. You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google.
Can I be in more than one workspace?
Yes. Open the agent switcher at the bottom of the sidebar (or press ⌘K / Ctrl+K), click Switch and pick a workspace, or create a New workspace.
Can I use Peki in Turkish?
Yes. Click TR at the bottom of the sidebar. The setting is saved in your browser. Your agents answer customers in the customer's own language either way.
Building agents
What's the difference between Instructions, Tools, Skills and Knowledge?
Instructions are rules the agent follows on every message. Tools are actions it can take, like calling your order API. Skills are how-to steps it loads only for one kind of question. Knowledge is what it searches before it answers. See Key concepts.
When should I use a Function instead of an HTTP tool?
Use an HTTP tool for one API call. Use a Function when you need several calls, calculations or reshaping, for example fetching prices and computing an indicator. See Functions.
Why don't my changes reach customers?
Customers talk to the published version. Your changes are in the draft until you click Publish. Channel settings, Knowledge and workspace variables are the exceptions: they apply right away. See Publishing and versions.
Can I go back to an earlier version?
Yes. Open Instructions → Versions, pick a version and click Restore to draft. Then publish. Your records are never versioned, so restoring keeps every lead.
Which model should my agent use?
New agents start with Claude Haiku 5.5 as the primary model and Gemini 3.8 Flash as the fallback. Both read images. You can change them in Instructions → Model, where the table shows what each model can do. See Model and behavior.
Can my agent answer in several languages?
Yes. It replies in the customer's language unless your instructions say otherwise. You can also add a block that applies only when the customer writes in a given language.
Can different instructions apply after hours?
Yes. Set a block to Conditional → business hours, and set your hours in Settings → Business hours. If business hours aren't set, such a block is never sent.
Can my agent search the web?
Yes, if you turn on Instructions → Web search. It's off by default.
The Copilot
What does the Copilot cost?
Each Copilot reply shows its cost underneath, and Settings → Usage → Copilot shows the total. A full onboarding usually uses around 90 credits with the default model.
Which Copilot model should I pick?
Claude Haiku 5.5 is the default and the cheapest; it can build a complete agent. Claude Sonnet 5.5 is the most careful and costs more. Gemini 3.8 Flash is a solid alternative. GLM 5.3 is a low-cost option for simple changes and doesn't read images. See Working with the Copilot.
Can the Copilot publish or send things without asking me?
No. Publishing, restoring a version, widget changes, real writes during tests and automations that write all wait for your approval on a card.
What if the Copilot does something I don't want?
Click Undo this turn under that turn. If you changed the same things since, Peki tells you what would be lost and asks first.
Is it safe to give the Copilot my API key?
Use the key card it shows. The key is stored encrypted for that agent and the Copilot only learns its name and last four characters. If you paste a key into the chat by mistake, Peki removes it before the model sees it.
Channels and conversations
How do I put the chat on my website?
Turn on Channels → Website chat, add your site under Allowed websites, click Save, then paste the Embed code before </body>. See Website chat.
Can I connect WhatsApp or Instagram?
Not yet. Peki supports the website chat, Telegram and the Sessions API.
Can one Telegram bot serve two agents?
No. A bot belongs to one agent at a time. Connecting it to another agent asks whether to move it. See Telegram.
How does a customer reach a person?
They ask. The conversation appears in the Inbox under Needs you. A teammate clicks Take over, replies, then clicks Hand back to AI or Resolve. See Human handoff.
When does a new conversation start?
When the customer clicks New conversation in the website chat, sends /new on Telegram, or your app starts a session. Otherwise, after 24 hours of quiet by default, or after a conversation is resolved. You can change the quiet time in Instructions → Memory.
Can customers send photos and documents?
Yes: photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF) and documents (PDF, TXT, Markdown, CSV), up to 10 MB each, 5 per message and 30 per conversation. See Files and attachments.
Records, approvals and automations
Where do leads and appointment requests go?
Into Records, your own tables. The agent saves what the customer says; a save with the same phone or email updates that record. See Records.
Can I check an action before the agent does it?
Yes. Turn on Needs approval for a tool, a Function or a table's saves. The action waits in Inbox → Approvals. Requests expire after 24 hours. See Approvals.
Can the agent send me a daily summary?
Yes, with an automation. Ask the Copilot: "Every weekday at 9:00, send me a short summary of yesterday's conversations on Telegram." See Automations.
Why did my automation pause itself?
It hit a daily limit (runs or model cost), failed five times in a row, the workspace ran out of credits, or a tool it uses started writing and needs your approval again. The reason shows on the automation. See Troubleshooting.
Privacy and security
Does the AI see my customers' personal data?
Names (if you keep that option on), phone numbers, emails, ID numbers, card numbers and IBANs are replaced with placeholders before the model sees them. Your tools still get the real values. Images can't be masked, so they go to the model as they are. See Data and privacy.
Do model providers keep my data?
Every model call goes only to providers that keep no data and never train on it.
Where are files stored?
Privately, in Europe. They're reachable only through Peki, the customer's own chat or your API key. Deleting an agent or the workspace deletes them.
Credits, plans and billing
What uses credits?
Building with the Copilot, test conversations, your agents' replies, automations, records fills and analytics, and reading Knowledge sources. One credit is $0.01. See Plans and credits.
What happens when credits run out?
The Copilot, tests, automations and new Knowledge stop with "You are out of credits." Nothing you built is lost. Live agents of paid workspaces keep answering customers.
Why can't I publish?
Publishing needs a package, and your workspace is on the free plan. Packages are coming soon; contact us from Settings → Plan & credits to go live now.
Do I get free credits for every workspace?
No. You get 500 free credits once, on the first workspace you create.
API
How do I call my agent from my own app?
Create a key in Settings → API keys with Read and write access, then use the Sessions API: start a session for your user, send messages and stream the replies. See the API overview and Authentication.
Can I see the API key again later?
No. It's shown once when you create it. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.
